Hi everyone this is Nahid. Hope you are having a good day. Today I will discuss the latest version of iOS in 2018 which is called iOS 12. This is the latest operating system from Apple that runs on all iPhones and iPads. This is the biggest update from Apple which contains many newer features and produces great performance than older versions of iOS. So, without further and do let’s start.

Performance

As usual, the latest version of iOS is faster than before versions. Apple is working on iOS to feel faster than ever. Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering Craig Federighi said that in Apple’s tests on iPhone 6 Plus, apps lunch 40 percent faster, the system keyboard comes up 50 percent faster and opening the camera is 70 percent faster. Apple also said iOS 12 ramps up performance immediately when it’s needed, then ramps it down when not needed to preserve battery life.

Notifications

iOS 12 will support grouped notifications so you will be able to interact with or dismiss multiple notifications from the same app at once. Press into a notification and you will be able to decide whether to turn off notifications from the source entirely or simply tune the circumstances under which it notifies you. The notifications will be grouped by app, by topic. You’ll also be able to quit notifications from notification center, but not on your lock screen and they also won’t make sounds.

Screen Time or usage monitoring

iOS 12 will provide a new screen time feature which will detail how much time you’re spending on your device and using individual apps. You’ll be able to set time limits for each app and it will notify you when you’re running out of the allotment of time you’ve given to each application. It also tells you which apps send the most notifications.

Animoji and Memoji with tongue detection

Animoji will be able to detect when you’re sticking out your tongue and mimic that. There are four new Animoji a ghost, a tiger, a T-Rex, a koala. At the end of the Animoji drawer, you’ll now see a plus sign, and this is for creating your own image which is called Memoji.

Group FaceTime

Apple has finally announced group FaceTime functionality for iOS and you will be able to FaceTime with up to 31 of your closest friends. Group FaceTime will be supported for iOS and Mac OS.  You will be able to use Animoji and Memoji character during the call.

Do Not Disturb Mood

In iOS 12 there’s a new feature called Do Not Disturb during bedtime. When this mood activated you’ll not see all notifications during the preset bedtime hours, even you can turn on the screen of your device.

Siri

Apple has updated Siri in iOS 12. The new feature is based on shortcuts which allow the voice assistant to allow people to do things more quickly on their phone. Those shortcuts can be used in any app, finally allowing the whole range of apps to interact with Siri.
